WOYWW 324

Hello again, Wednesday already!  Following yesterday's very sad news shared by Julia about our lovely Janet "Fairythoughts" it's a bit sombre round here...but I do have a desk (yes, yes I know it's not a proper desk) to share... it is WOYWW after all...

its gels and mediums fortnight at Paperartsy and I have some works in progress - waiting for some new gels to arrive (they should have got to me at work on Tuesday but didn't... sad face...!)

Did get these locally on Saturday though..
oh, and Julia, they're not all gesso, I've turned them round so you can see them (if you zoom in!) clearly....short of getting down on the floor again!

so, that's  my desk..   floorspace... what's on yours?

I was just at Julia's and read about Janet. SO, so sad. She was a wonderful person and I was the recipient of one of her gifts: the rocking horse rubber stamp I use when making my WOYWW ATCs each year.

I see you have gone from buying new stamps and stencils to buying every type of gel they make. I look forward to even MORE wonderful journal entries as you continue to make more and more pages using these products.

BTW, my friend Sally and I were talking about sports today and I mentioned I had an internet friend who went to Wimbledon. Sally, an avid tennis fan, said some guy (sorry, tennis is not my thing) from Scotland won and the Brits really loved him. Those were her words and she admitted she liked him, too.

No number, because Julia is still sleeping.

Hi Helen, Can't wait to see what you make with your new purchases! I've used Gesso and texture paste but not gel (or is it the same thing?) Have a happy week Lynda B 19

I too feel rather sad today but in the memory of our dear friend I feel we should all live a little harder. We were blessed to have had her in our lives [even though I'd never actually met her]. We are so lucky to be part of this wonderful group of special people.

I'm so sad about Janet, even though I knew it was imminent. She was a wonderful friend and I shall miss her terribly.... We owe it to her to keep on crafting and sharing the WOYWW love.

So sad to think of WOYWW without Janet.
Enjoy all that Gesso (even though you say its not - a rose by any other name?)
Happy WOYWW!

If it were gels and mediums week at my desk we'd have glossy accents, some crappy acrylics paints and half a far of gesso! Prolly best it stays with the likes of you! Who knew you needed so many pots and tubes! Really like the vivid purpley colour in your journal. I gues bythe end of the process they won't be so much in evidence!
Shall miss Janet very much, she was so involved with us all.

So many lovely things to play with and everything right at your fingertips! If I worked in the floor I couldn't get up. Old age has crept up on me!

Hi Helen, great floorspace! I'm only peeking quickly, I've only visited 3 blogs and I've already been enabled, lol. My willpower is clearly non existent this week. These next couple of weeks are going to fly past, can't believe just how quick the days are going- getting very nervous now, working my way up gradually to absolutely terrified! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx

I'll look forward to seeing lots of fab new textured stuff in October :)

and yes, still a bit sombre here as well. Glad we got a chance for a chat, however brief, with Janet at the last crop. Hers was a desk I never missed, if I could help it, and coming back to WOYWW after such a long and chaotic gap, I feel the loss quite strongly.

glad to be back ... finally!

I love looking at your desk/floor with all the paints and pastes. Fascinating. I spied that you also have the Crazy Birds.

Not sure what the gel is all about - look forward to you showing us what you create with it.
My floor? Well, all it reveals is bits of cardstock as they fell from the upper regions of my desk - now waiting for some kind soul to brush them up - guess that will be me later on but in the meantime until they are knee deep I think I will be ok.

Yes - I think all our thoughts are with Janet's family this week. Life is such a roller coaster isn't it. Keep on crafting and fill every minute I say! x jo

Helen you have the best art supplies! I'm thinking you're about ready to move into a serious art studio with all your wonderful creativity. It is so sad to lose a creative soul like Janet, and I always loved the name of her blog, so I hope her friends and family can find peace and comfort through it all. Hugs. Sandy Leigh #40

I love that you have so much happening on the floor. I've always been a fan of the floor--it is always there for you. However, we aren't as close buddies as we were when we were younger. Now whenever I hang out on my friend the floor I get a lower backache and feel crippled. Not so fun. Lots to play with on your floor though! Judy #51

Lots of lovely gel mediums there Helen - if there was such a thing as desert island art, I think my mediums and gessos could not be left behind lol! I've got easily as many as you. I love that stuff.

Thank you for your very kind words, so appreciated. I'm glad you liked what I did for Shaz. We need to support one another through our difficulties don't we! I am pooped today and resting now, after our nephew was here for lunch, which was lovely. So 16th Oct. is a red letter date for us both then!

Happy WOYWW,

The pages in your journal on the floor look intriguingly fabulous already! I am able to keep the floor free from stuff still... I wonder when I give in and use the floorspace too... the moment is getting near, ha! Thanks for stopping at my blog earlier. Happy woyww and a hug from sunny Holland, Marit #35
